The Michigan Chamber of Commerce was established in November 1959 to represent employer interests by working to promote conditions favorable to economic development in Michigan. Over 7000 businesses, local chambers of commerce, trade and professional associations are members of the Michigan Chamber. With members of every size and type in all 83 Michigan counties, the Chamber represents a broad cross-section of the state's economy.

Formed as a non-partisan, grassroots organization, Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch (M-LAW) serves as a public watchdog over the court system. M-LAW's goal is to eliminate the many negative effects that lawsuit abuse has on families, job providers and communities.
